LICSW RYT 200, Trauma Healing Individual Yoga

Michele is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and yoga teacher at Heartspace Collaborative https://heartspaceyogacenter.com/in St. Johnsbury, Vermont.

She has worked at White Mountain Mental Health Center for 18 years. In addition, she was an adjunct professor at Springfield College, interim Director of the Graduate Program for Mental Health Counseling, domestic violence/sexual assault advocate, community educator and teen group facilitator.

In 2021, Michele completed the 200 hour yoga teacher certification with Andrea Thibaudeau and it was during that journey she became aware of the profound impact that yoga practice can have on trauma.

Michele is a Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga Facilitator (TCTSY-F) a 300 hour program of the Center for Trauma and Embodiment (CFTE).

Michele believes in the healing properties of yoga. TCTSY is the only evidence based Trauma Sensitive Yoga practice used as an adjunctive to psycho-therapy for treatment of complex trauma. TCTSY’s theoretical orientation is grounded in Trauma Theory, Attachment Theory and Neuroscience Study.

She is committed to share what she has learned so others can find healing for themselves. She offers TCTSY to create space for individuals to experience present moment awareness at their own pace, as well as, to empower participants to make choices about what works for them one movement at a time. Practicing in this way creates a safe environment to move towards embodiment and reclaim the connection to self that was compromised by trauma.
